you know your a pedal head if --

At least, that's what you keep telling yourself: "I might trade or sell it at a later date."

Nonetheless, your track record ( and a closet and drawers full of pedals ) doesn't corroborate with "I might sell or trade it...".

That's why I wrote it ;)

Also you know you are pedal head if every time you find a pedal you really like, you immediately think about getting a second one just like it.

Yeah, I figured... my post was more a response to rjovin's response to your post ...

As for second helpings, you never know when you'll need a backup...
I hung out in Menlo Park with a friend and his retired uncle a number of years back. Uncle had a habit of buying things (tools, in particular) in twos (sometimes threes), and then he'd forget where he put things. He had a container load of tools out in the yard, the double-car garage was full, the basement was full, the attic was full and his spare room was full. The aunt put a stop at things spilling into their bedroom, living-room, kitchen and bathroom. While we were visiting, we went to the hardware store nearly every day with him to buy tools, sometimes highly-specialised tools that required visiting several shops to find them. He was a genius electronics/mechanical wizard – Unc helped set up the Stanford Linear Accelerator (IIRC) and other such Sillycon Valley related detritus, long before the advent of home computers... He was racked with cancer from being up to his elbows in PCB-laden transformer oil or such-like for so many years...

You know you're a pedal-head ...

... if you know off the top of your head the power requirements of dozens of brands of pedals, ie which ones have:
2.1 vs 2.3 plugs & jacks;
centre-positive vs centre-negative;
9v vs 12v vs 18v vs "X"v;
average #of mA draw;
DC vs AC;
etc...

... if you've ever had a pedal rehoused.

... if you've ever said "wall-wart" in a conversation not about music with a non-musician and had to explain what a wall-wart is.

... if you use a Cioks DC-10 PS even on your 2-3 pedal "grab & go" pedalboards.

... if you drive your car and hit the brakes and gas as though you're toe-tapping your pedals and bystanders think you can't drive stick, but you're driving an automatic...

....if what keeps you up the night before a big gig is the various possibilities for your pedalboard rather than worrying about whether you will play well

(I swear this just happened to me last night)

When you are going through potential dog names and all that comes to mind is Moog, Fuzz Face and Boss.

I was going to name my next dog "Mingus", but "Moog"... that's a strong contender! Just don't name any pet "Ring Worm"... :***:

You know you're a pedalhead if...

...you keep checking this thread before all others.

... you loan out pedals several friends to disguise the true size of your hoard, uh, board potential.

... you contemplate simply permanently affixing your 3'x4' board to a dolly/handtruck so it's easier to transport/manoeuver

...every smallish flat object you see you wonder how well it would work as a pedalboard: breadboards, cuttingboards, skateboards, longboards, in-bed serving trays and laptop stands, bathtub shaving trays, briefcases, tool-cases, tv-trays, bookshelves, ironing boards, pizza pans, cookie sheets, dish-racks and draining boards, board games (Risk!, Snakes&Ladders, Monopoly, Operation!), side tables, BBQ grill-gratings, fludder boards, boogie boards, surfboards, snowboards, boat-planks, window shutters, shoe racks, coffee tables, magazine racks...
