Me too. Thanks for saying so! They are all really special musicians.

That session just about killed me. It was hard music to get right. We play live often but I was looking for some more delicate timbre's than is usually possible to get in a live club situation so there was a lot more experimenting the day of the session than I am used too but when it worked, it worked well. For that project specifically, I am always asking if there is a way to make timbre functional to the music and intrinsically linked to the harmony and melody. I am starting to feel like I've got the energy again to think about recording another record with that group again. Hopefully 2023 but it may be 2024.

2020 wasn't the best time for a release now that I am looking back at it...

Awesome. I love the mallet stuff & the double bow stuff. Great playing and The Chadwick sounds good to me.

Thanks! Both of those things have been greatly expanded by my recent work with Ra Kalam Bob Moses. He really pushed me to do the mallets longer and more concentrated.
The Chadwick is certainly great to have. Flying with it is so simple. This show was just an addendum to a family visit.

Fun gig at Mezzrow last night. The best room in NYC acoustically for the bass - no pickup, no mic, no amp, just the bass (and a VERY quiet audience, which also helps). Spiro solo E/A, Innovation Braided solo D, Jargar Dolce G.

Sounds great! I have gig jealousy :) Playing and bass sound great. Drummer-less trio seems like a lot of fun. I didn't get a chance to make it through the whole thing but it's going in my music to listen to soon cache. I don't always love the live-stream thing as a performer but it's great to have some much music out there to check out these days...
