You sold me a broken PA System!!!

Maybe they were trying to save on their electricity bill at the office. The thought was to recirculate the power to the speakers back into the mixer. Then they can say that they are a green company and friends of the environment. "Look, we recycle power." I'm sure Bob from accounting will get a promotion for this awesome idea.

"Lets see, here are a few cables not yet connected. And there are a few holes still unplugged, maybe they match? Yes! Then it must be right, doesn't it?"

yeah, it's like hooking up a PC, right? if the connector fits then it's supposed to go there?

Just tell her that there must be a hole somewhere in the system they forgot to plug up and all the good sound leaked out of that.
