Band members who insist that all cover tunes need to be played exactly like the original.
Pet Peeve: Its always hard to get gigs. Without gigs, everything else is moot. How do you guys do it?
This sounds like a good thing to me. Take a few moments to breathe...10-15 seconds is nothing. What's the rush?
My list of pet peeves (I didn't read all the other posts)
- Being late, myself or others
- Canceling same day
- Arguing about chords when I can tell you haven't even worked on the song
- Learning your part at rehearsal in instead of private practice
- Playing louder than everybody else
- Playing too loud for the environment of the hall or venue
- Telling me how to run my own PA
- Drummers who say, "turn up my monitor, all I can hear is the drums"
- Ditto for guitar players
- Being expected to play for nothing when admission is charged
- Singers who mumble lyrics
- Singers who chew gum while singing
- Guitar players who have a ton of effects on their guitar
- Guitar players who jack the bass up on their guitars
- Drummers who think toms should ring on really low frequencies
- Snare drums that rattle
- Drummers that pride themselves as being "self-taught" and really need lessons
- Band members who do not help with load in / load out, setting up, tearing down
- Cheap gear snobs
Singers in general annoy me.
The last band I was in my buddy and I wrote all of the music, invited this fellow to join as the singer and months later he was threatening to kick us out of his band. Typical guy who strapped on a guitar and probably played three notes the whole gig. I wonder if he knew we turned his amp off when we started a gig and turned it on when we finished playing.

No offense but if looking at your picture is your "flair" I can see why some people don't want to dress like that
This may be a bit long for just a peeve but gives you an idea of the guitarist in a weekly jam-and-a-beer night that we have.
I play bass and Woodskin Cajon. I'm basically a one man rhythm section (have a look here if you're interested)
Anyway, we'd done the odd small gig here and there and a couple of nights before a gig the following conversation takes place.....
Guitar: Hey man, do you mind if I stand right up front and you move to the back at the gig.
Me: Well, yeah, actually I do. I don't want to spend the whole night staring your's and Jimmy's asses. Anyway, you can be seen easily behind and to the side of me..... i'm sitting down.
Guitar: Well, why don't you stand up at the back.
Me: Because none of you can play the Woodskin and your guitar at the same time.
Guitar: Don't bother with the Woodskin
Me: So then we have no drums in the mix. That'd sound pretty crappy. Anyway, why do you need to be up front??
Guitar: So I can see Jimmy's hands so I know what the chords are........
Me: Well learn the f*****g songs then!!
This was after jamming regularly on some of these songs almost weekly for over a year. I suddenly realised why his timing and rhythm were so out...... he's alway at least one beat behind waiting to see what the chord is and has no idea where the changes are.
I won't gig with these people anymore. The singer/rhythm guitarist and his wife are good friends and we have fun with a jam and beer each week. It's a bit of fun and allows me to try bass lines and stuff that I wouldn't try with my regular band.
So my pet peeve... guitarists who don't learn the chords let alone the song structure.

Not saying they should dress like me, but try not to look like the newest warehouse temp in jeans and a tee that just rolled in after work ... unless your chops alone are gonna completely blow their doors off.
Excessive noodling when dialing in tone at a gig or noodling at all between songs.
Too much dead air between songs.
Not knowing the song.
Not sticking to the song format and changing to the next section.
Showing up to rehearsal/Van call/gigs drunk, stoned or hung over.
Not helping pack up after the gig because one is talking to an attractive person whom they wish to sleep with.
