geat deal- hartke 3500- but do NOT EVER use a sovtek tube in the pre-amp - Sovteks are for guitards, you want bass, you use JJ tubes.

...so I voted: Analog head with ss preamp & ss power amp

It's a great head and it made me realize that tubes are not the only way to get great tone!

I went from an SS combo to separate tube preamp and SS power amp to an all SS head (see my sig).

I currently prefer SS.

If I could afford anything, I'd have a PJB P-1 preamp (SS) and a Lab.Gruppen fP2600 power amp (SS) (or just the P-1 into a Berg IP powered cab).
