Early on I got mixed up in a bad crowd and bought a number of guitars and guitar amps.
At some point I saw the error of my ways and changed.
It's all bass since then.

Bought a new Fender P-bass in about 1972 or '73. Got rid of it a couple years later. It weighed a ton. I don't miss it.

My first bass was a 1974 Fender precision, bought used but in great shape and I wish I still had that. Then in 1992 I bought a Fender Precison plus new, also called a longhorn or boner bass. Wish I had that also. They both were in great shape, played and sounded really good and neither was very heavy. I owned a few Rickenbackers also, maybe I'd have kept the black one.
Can't go backwards but there it is.

I had a used Ric my dad got me in high school after I had been playing bass about a year. I ended going in more of a Fender direction, so eventually sold it. I wish I still had it ... because my dad has not let me live it down to this day. Really. Like, he mentioned it when I was talking with him on the phone this weekend.

I miss my emerald green 1995 Ibanez SR800. If I could get it back, I would.

Sometimes I think I miss the Peavey T-40 I got for maybe $200 from a local pawnshop in 1994 -- for the heft and the overblown RAWK N ROLL styling. But to be honest, if I had it today it would probably be a closet dweller or I'd unload it while they are still overvalued. It had a Hipshot detuner that would let me drop to D instantly, but going back up, it never quite got back to E, so wasn't really much of a convenience.

I do not miss my Fender JP-90 (we never bonded), my Warwick Corvette Fretless (too dark in tone and waaaaaay too heavy on the shoulders), or my Peavey FL-20 (it was fine, but had some dead spots, and *lines* on the neck. Ick.) I do not miss any that I've forgotten to list.

I factory ordered My ELECTRA MPC OUTLAW in 78 it was stolen in 83 .
I factory ordered My KRAMER XL- 8 in 78 also ,
it was also stolen about a year after the OUTLAW
I don't let hate in my life

First one I played was an MM Stingray a guy at my dorm had.
Then I rented a P-bass copy one summer.
After that a guy lent me a Rick 4001 for several years.
After he confiscated that one I got a Peavey Foundation. Had that for many years, now on permanent loan to a friend.
In 1984 I got an Earthwood "Factory Prototype". That one spent many years in the closet so I finally sold it.
Somewhere along the line I had an OLP-1 I think it was. Didn't much care for it so sold it on.
Now I own a Carvin B4F, a Dean Edge 5 (only active I've ever had) and a Fender Aerodyne Jazz.
I just got rid of my Ibanez TMB30.

I think that's all of them!

I recently just had a jonesing for my old Gretsch Junior Jet, the original one with great burst and the single pickup slightly more towards the mid position.
Saw they’re doing a limited run of slightly fancier 2 pickup versions, may have to spring for one of those…

The two I miss the most: 1956 P-Bass, and a 1971 Telecaster Bass neck on a 1969 P-bass body… damn, I loved that bass.

My first bass. A ‘63 jazz Mom bought me in ‘69. $300 for it and a bassman 212. . A B C Rich Eagle that suffered a headstock crack. A Modulus Q5 , an STR 5 , a Clarke model Alembic I got in a trade that I immediately converted to cash. And that’s about it for the ones I truly regret getting rid of.

I used to develop a super heavy emotional attachment to my keeper basses. When I broke it off emotionally, I was done and don't want any of them back.

If I did my 72 fretless P, Ibanez Artist, and Guild JSB II, would be my chosen.

A 1980 Azure glow Rick 4001,BCRich maple mockingbird, Alembic series 1, BCRich koa mockingbird , Alembic Elan , Modulus Q5, another Alembic series 1 , Spector euro 4, and after I sell my current Fender P( my avatar pic )and last bass , probably that 1 !

I wish I still had my Ken Smith BT6. It was a giant coffee table, but it sounded great and was just a gorgeous work.

My bass history has less to do with a specific bass guitar and more to do why I choose bass and how playing a bass guitar resonated with me enough to dedicate my musical life to it.
