your basses "names"

My Yamaha RBX170 is named Sin-i-ster she is called that because she looks like she's really sinister. She's dark black.

The ATK305 I'm getting is in trifade burst I'm gonna slap a sticker of a one dollar bill with "This is your God" in red letters on it and call the ATK the Godkiller. Short for the Godkiller Odin. Odin was the father of Thor from Norse mythology steming from my Nordic Celtic background from me being Irish.

My first bass ended up with a name inadvertently that eventually stuck - the Peavy is "Bitch" so its a pervy bitch according to some. In my lovely teenage years, I put a sticker on the bass of the band CLUTCH. When I picked the bass back up, I hated the stickers and tried removing them bit by bit. The CLUTCH sticker came half way off and all that was left was "~~~ITCH". Everyone thought I had purposely put a sticker on there that said bitch and the name stuck after so long. My newest addition MTD is "B.B." from Black Beauty, the bass is all black everywhere with just one white circle logo on the headstock.

My Squier VM fretted 70s Jazz is "Big Maple Baby" (hard maple neck, soft maple body). My 2008 Blizzard Pearl American Standard Jazz is "Pearl" (source obvious). My 2009 Olympic White American Standard Jazz is "White Tiger", due to its flame maple tiger-stripes across the back of the neck, and its Jazz Bass "growl". My 2008 Olympic White American Standard Precision is "Vanilla Thunder".

ok but back to what you people have named your basses and why

come on lets see em

One more time here we go -

Blue P Bass copy by "Fullerton" - Blueregard - after the cartoon character "Blue" on the show Fosters Home for Imaginary Friends. For a little while it had "piss off" on the back but I removed that (Monty Python thing) I also referred to it as the Flag bass as it had an American flag deal going on under the strings. (sold)

Natural Ash SX Jazz bass - "Blondie" I was plinkin about on that bass and the movie The Good The Bad and The Ugly was on and I heard "Blondieeee" called out by Tuco and the name just stuck. (sold)

Black Sx Jazz, (Geddy clone) - "Lilly" - I know, no reference to Rush. But as I had the bass in pieces I was listening to music and the Who song, Pictures Of Lilly began playing as I was snapping pics of the progress of the build.

Silver Mist?/Inca Silver? SX P Bass - "Thumper" (Maiden America) I was listening to Iron Maiden and it stuck, plus I had just strung Rotosound Flats on it and well...you figure it out...BTW-1/15/10 It's up for sale right now in the classifieds...

Trans Red S101 5 String - "Big Red" - Kinda Obvious isn't it? Plus that was the code name my son and I used to refer to the bass before my wife found out it was here.....:D (sold...almost)

Squier VM Jazz - "Mojo" - just seemed right to name it that.

Squier CV Jazz - "Suzy Cream Cheese" - I suddenly realized I have never named this bass, and if I did, I forgot. So as I sat here typing this it just popped into my head. Besides, I like Cream Cheese, and I like Frank Zappa. And since the bass has DiMArzio Ultra Jazz pups, it has a big, larger than life gnarly sound to it, and so did most of Zappa's stuff....Works for me!

Black SX Jazz #2 - Another Geddy Clone, but based on the bass Geddy used on the song Driven. (EDIT 1/16/10 )And the name just popped into my head while reading further down - "Black Betty"
