I want a 5 string and a 6 string. B oth need to be GOOD basses, but not necessarily expensive basses. One needs to be a lined fretless. I played an MTD Kingston 6 string fretless recently, so that would definitely qualify as a good bass to me. I much prefer 34" scales, and while I know the majority love the 35" B sting, I prefer 34".
Ther are SOOOO many choices out there, it is numbing to me. I have been going through phases of gas'ing for another Bongo, of getting a used Roscoe, of grabbing one of those 2TEK bridge'd Hamer 5 string jazz bases or an SB5000...sooo many choices. So I bought a Squier fretless out of the classifieds to calm myself down a bit, get a fretless in house, and quiet the gas until I know what I want brand and option wise. I want to not turn over instruments anymore - I want instruments I can retire with happily. Its just that so many basses look so good!
