I voted for the Eden.. both it and the Epifani are great cabs.. but to be fair I havent yet played the Berg.. (Also have no local dealers).

The Berg doesn't have the most impressive specs but I guess it's one of those don't judge a book by it's cover' moments aye.

Good chance Bergantino is just being more honest than some others on the list ? Also the closed cab set up of the Berg is to achieve that certain tone goal, at usually the sacrafice of low end range, so given that the Berg 610 does dam good considering it's unported.

I own the Epifani UL610, but have not played through the Bergantino NV610, so take my explanation with a grain of salt.

From what I understand, the NV610 "New Vintage 610" is a take on the old school Ampeg sealed 810 cabinets, but with more focus, clarity, and volume.... (and mids to spare, but no tweeter.)

The Epifani UL610 does something completely different. This is a modern hi-fi speaker cabinet with tons of lows and highs (and a wonderful tweeter.) The mids are there, just different, not the Rock N Roll mids of cut and doom, buth the UL can be eq'ed similarly, but from what I understand, not the same.

I hope this helps, and maybe someone who has experience with both will come along and add their 2 bits.

I've played both, and that's a fair enough comparison.

The main point (as you stated) is that sealed/tweeterless cabinets sound very different than ported/tweetered ones.

I've been playing with the Berg NV610 some more. It really has a beautiful tone. My local shop has it for $1029.

If going by specs alone, it seems that the Epifani and Eden cabs would be better than the Bergantino (which is winning by a large margin at this point)..Interesting..

Judge cabinets with your ears, not your eyes.

As someone else said, specs are frequently exaggerated. But even if they're all honest, specs don't tell you what the tone of the cabinet will be. The Berg NV610 won't have the "best" specs, but it sounds much, MUCH better to me than the other cabs on that list, and I've heard most of them. Not everyone likes the sealed cabinet tone, but obviously I do.

So listen to these cabs if you can. If you can't, then look for comments by those who have. Again, specs won't tell you how good a cabinet sounds even if they are honest. Cabs with identical specs can still sound very different, even when those specs are honest.

Seriously folks, I can't believe this poll indicates anything. I'd like to know how many of those who have voted have based their opinion on actually using more than one or two of the listed cabs. Very few I would bet.

I've used the Eden 610XLT, loved it! Best on stage bass sound I've ever had. Really want to play a Schroeder 610, it's size and weight alone will make it a winner.

6x10s??? I can barely deal with what I have gotten myself into with these 2x10s. I am neither young nor old, short but very fit. I look like an ant hauling those things around. Sure I could do reps with one, but we are talking about what, 100-150 pounds of gear to the car, up some stairs (always stairs), back down the stairs a few hours later, and back into the house. Every time I play. (The plan was to usually use one cab, but you don't bring a knife to a gunfight.) The cabs alone fill the trunk of my Civic completely. Don't get me wrong, two 2x10s is doable, but it is *plenty*. All a you on this 6x10 thread must look like Henry Rollins or somebody.

Thank you for letting me rant. In a past life I was a frontman = a Shure SM58 and maybe a cowbell. This bass thing is whole nother smoke.

You're possibly right, but that also applies to most of the polls here @TB. The interesting thing, though, is that Bergantino is in the lead. If few voters have actually heard the Berg, why would it be out front? One would think that Ampeg or Eden would win out. That's what I expected.

for the old school, NOTHING BESTS the nv610. flippin' awesome cab for some grindin pickstyle.

for something with more upper end articulation and that's as loud as a mother, and that's not coincidently the lightest cab on your list, the epifani ul610 is a like silky smooth punch to the face.
