EHX Bass Micro Synth ---> Maxon AF-9 --> Catalinbread Heliotrope

Actually it's not very useful.

But it makes people want to punch babies.

I've got two out of three of those pedals, and enjoy the lofi quality I get when sending my standard setting BMS into my standard setting AF-9. It's not usable in the least, and not even close to as cool as that sound is. What kinda settings are you using and what is the Heliotrope contributing to the sonics, if you don't mind me asking.:)

Thanks. The Heliotrope is adding a ring mod/lo-fi fuzz sound (and also an accidental volume boost since it wasn't set at unity). I was actually playing the same thing without the Heliotrope and then kicked it on, but when I uploaded it I separated the two clips.

[Invalid or Expired Link Removed] with just BMS & AF-9.

The BMS had the trigger, -1 oct & +1 octave 3/4 of the way up, the clean dimed, no square wave, a small bit of attack delay, resonance cranked, start freq low with stop freq a bit higher and rate at 4.

The AF-9 was in band pass with the peak high, set in down mode and drive set on low.

Hmmm... those settings are pretty much the reverse of my standard settings. That could be why it sounds so foreign.:p

Your posts are only increasing my perception that I need to pick up a ring modulator.

Thanks for the info and samples.:)

Picked up a digitech bass synth wah on closeout at GC this week for 48 bucks,....ran it after my EBS wah one in the filter octave setting,...the two combined gave quite a bit of bootsy wetness,...then kicked in my old A/DA stomp flanger and,.....gosh!!!! I think the band may fire me soon!! :D:hiding::ninja::bassist:
