Your favorite inlays for bass

+1 The inlays on that bass look killer on the ebony fretboard.

I'm a big fan inlays in general - some of my current favorites include black pearl block found on Fender Am Deluxe Jazz basses (looks fantastic on the natural one), Carvin's signature inlays and of course, the aged pearl block on my CS Fender.

I haven't seen them on his basses but I love the flying birds on PRS guitars.(I like the crowns on my old Kramer 650B too)

Another vote for fancy fingerboard wood, no inlays (although it does frustrate my guitar player on occasion, as does the 5th string ). 24F5 is birds-eye, Will Lee 4 is flamed. However, I also love the bird inlays on my PRS (in background).

I don't know if they ever put them on a bass but the Gretsch Roundup inlays are my favorite.

Not a bass, but this is my acoustic guitar...

Personal preference for bass is abalone dots.
I also liked the brass rings on my Washburn B20.

I was wondering when someone would share this one...

Never had a specific preference myself; I've got maple/pearl, maple/black, and rosewood/pearl... Love 'em all!

I like the inlays I have on my Squier P-Bass. They're faux mother-of-pearl, and all I had to do was stick them on!
