I really like the PRS shadow birds they put on the high end guitars. I would love to see them on a bass, but I've never actually seen a PRS bass (just a few pictures, and I can't recall what kind of inlay they have had).

Also, I think the Fodera butterfly logo inlay on their headstocks are pretty fantastic.

I like the blocks on the Geddy, but blocks must ave binding or I won't bite. My les paul knockoff has the gibson style trapezoids. I do like various shapes, but meh to most inlays. I think abalone looks cool.

I think my favourite inlay on my basses has to be the simple, but otherwise bare fretboard on my Cirrus. The entire bare board with that stylised "C" in the middle makes it look so damn awesome.

My favorite inlay is a beautiful fretboard with no inlays at all

One of my old guitarists flipped guitars for and equipment for a living and he had a Caparison at one point with these sorta tribal / abstract clock design inlays.

Each clock was obviously set to the hour of the fret it marked.
They were the coolest inlays I've ever seen.

I like roman numeral inlays as well though.

Sounds cool, but I'm sure the guitarists need them to know their place on the fretboard. Those tabs to Stairway To Heaven aren't gonna play themselves.

I've never really been a big fan of inlays. Did/do they belong on a 70's Jazz Bass? Sure. I'm a fan of no inlays. But, my favorite by waaaaay waaaaay far, is Spector's crown inlays. Damn!!They just fit those basses. Big time.
