When it comes to non Marvel/DC superheroes... I'd also have to give Tobor the 8th Man a mention.. (quick strong Tobor.. the mighty Eight robot of the land. )
Columbo. He has superhero powers of humility and observation. Plus he has a wrinkled tan cape.

Both can countQuestion: does one need to have actual powers to be considered a super hero? Batman is just smart and rich. Is he a super hero? The green lantern has powers from the ring, but he's ordinary without it.
Was Howard the Duck a superhero? He was the master of quackfu.

Captain America since the 70's. Not one of these newbie bandwagon jumpers because of the movies. Though the movies are awesome.
I was a little worried when they first cast Chris Evans. Not that he's a bad actor, I just couldn't picture him as right for the part, but he's done an excellent job.
Growing up, it was this guy...and this is the right era of the comic, too...I remember buying 10-cent comics very well.
