Jojo Mayer's Nerve is another example as John Davis uses a Bugcrusher pretty often though they are obviously going for electronica sounds.

And that's the case with most uses of bitcrusher pedals - they're for simulating a studio manipulation live.

LOVE Dead Weather!! I am super happy that they have a new album. I "liked" Raconteurs, and I'm really digging the Jack White solo material but man, I need the Dead Weather. I was worried that Jack had moved on and left this project behind. Alison is perfect.

Im also not a big bit crusher type a guy. But that Scrutator does look mighty tasty. I want to grab and see whats its about. Bit crushers have always been one of those effects for me that sounded great at the time of watching a demo or two, but then is pretty quickly forgotten afterwards. But that Scrutator stuck with me. I think it was Juans demo of it that did it for me. The Gonkulator looks pretty rad as well.....

The Scrutator came in the mail for me about two weeks ago. I've had time here and there to play it. Very cool pedal; I'm trying to find a place for it in some new songs the band is working on to use it in.

Actually I haven't tried that many bit crushers, and even though I guess bit crushers are kind of exotic effects it seriously puzzles me why more companies who makes digital multi effects doesn't include bit crushers in them.

I mean Zoom did on the B3, but in my opinion it does a surprisingly disappointing job at it compared to most of the bit crushers on the market I watched demo's of, even the Mooer Lo-Fi Machine does a better job than the effect in the B3.

You can get some far out sounds out of the B3's bit crusher though, but it requires you to combine it with other effects like the ring modulator in the Zoom, one of the synths or both.

And still it leaves something to wish for in my opinion.
