I have using the Bill Lawrence P-46 p/u with the V3 Sadowsky Blue Label Flats for many years on a Classic 70 Series Fender Precision MIJ. IMHO it is just amazing in regards to playability and tone.

Your favourite flatwounds + p pickup combo?

Dean Markley flats were my favorite, but can't get them anymore.
So, on my Squier Precision, with Fender Classic 50's pickup and harness, Fender Hi-Mass Bridge, I use Fender 9050L Flats. That sounds as classic Fender sound to me and best combo for this bass.
On my Precision parts bass with wenge neck, the 1980's Bartolini pickup is combined with GHS Precisions flats. That's my combo on this bass.

I have had Dunlop 40-120 flats on my "Electric Banana" P5 for a few years and they still provide a decent range of tone color. The bass has a Nordstrand NP5 - a very bold take on the P. I can get the mids to honk if I want it, but this setup has clear, balzzzy lows.
