The first bass line I learned was "Sweet Child O' Mine", which I learned on my first, a Gibson Victory series bass.

I picked up my first ever bass after work yesterday and then went directly to big band rehearsal. When I got home, family asleep, I slipped into the couch and played some major scales trying to find out how it worked and finished off with the bass riff from All Blues (Miles Davis' "Kind of blue"), I think. I don't have an amp yet, but I think I got it straight. Man, did I have a hard time falling asleep?!
Ah, and the bass is a Fender Highway 1 jazz bass.
