Your Gig Rig

Red Planet,

How do you like the SWR golight cabs? Playing through an SWR ST-220 head as preamp & Technical Pro 2000w power amp, love the sound of SWR cabs (pre-fender) but was looking at golight line.

The Golight Cabs are great cabs, too bad Fender shut down SWR all together. I would like to have tried out the Golight 1x12 as four of those would have been handy to have around. I ended up selling off all my Golights. I had the 4 ohm 4x10, a 1x15, and the 2x10. After using the Bergantino HT112ER cabs there is no substitute for badass. That being said this weekend I'm taking the rig on the right for an all around vintage sound at an all classic rock club gig. Don't be fooled by the vintage PV cab it has Eminence Drivers in it though no tweet and all vintage tone.

Thank you very much. The crazy thing is "clean" the rig on the left is just as loud and goes deeper but the rig on the right goes very vintage and downright nasty if you want it.

Ha ha. Yeah I get that.
I've got a Shuttle 6.2 and a couple Berg AE112'S. And a Fender Super Bassman 300 and Berg NV412.
Yeah it gets as loud- sorta but hasn't got that creamy lush feel of 300 all tube watts. I haven't found a (fairly) compact cab that'll punch as hard as the NV412 yet neither.

My current rig is my Trace Elliot GP7 Series 6 2x10 combo. I have "downgraded" in overall rig size and weight however as far as volume and tone this combo is loud and sounds great.
