I tend towards workshirts or '50s-style short-sleeve button-up shirts (similar to what Charlie Sheen wears on "2-1/2 Men"), jeans, and either biker boots or dark-red Dr. Marten's shoes.

I am offendedbecause that's me absolutely, but that's how I usually dress.
Going for a look? The idea sort of makes me wan't to vomit.. I don't mind people doing so, it can be fun and great, but that just ain't me. Yeah, if I played for James Brown I'd be happy to wear what ever he asks, but otherwise I'll wear the same low quality discount bin leftovers as I always do and if a band asked me to wear anything else because of image or whatever they would most likely have to find a new bassplayer. I'd be happy to wear a nice suit though, but someone else would have to pay for it, I've got gear to buy
Funerals aside, I usually look like I woke up from the dumbster and with my face, nice clothes would just be like polishing a turd.
on stage , i look sorta' like this ...

When else do us grown-ups get to wear just about whatever you want, no matter how outrageous? If you're not taking advantage of being in a band to be different, then what's the point?
every time i see one of those i recall a friend of mine.... back in the early seventies,he had a cowboy shirt, which he proudly wore into one of the northern bc logging town bars, that used to be pretty rough places at times.....while standing at the urinal some huge logger asked him if he had the "matching panties that went with that shirt".....he somehow avoided the beating he thought he was about to get but he never wore it againWestern shirts are a standard for me in the rag bag. "Don't leave home without one."
Seriously whatver type of band your in the Western shirt always gets over.
