The Red Sox just canned Bobby Valentine. Big surprise!

And my day was made! I wouldn't have been surprised to see that stupid front office bring him back. I'm thinking there will be a Laroche singing. Maybe Napoli. He's got a perfect Fenway swing. I hope Ross the Boss gets re-signed and I wouldn't mind seeing Nick Swisher signed if Laroche or Napoli don't pan out.

Tell me about it. We were having a ball in the local bar here. Good riddance.

Good memories of tossing out 240 million to buy the division and not winning it anyway?
:p

I get a major kick out of the Dodgers and Angels each spending tons of money and getting beaten by their NorCal rivals with much lower payrolls. With the A's, it's freakin' incredible. It's like entering NASCAR with your stock Scion and winning.

Not my money. Who cares.
My current chick & I attended a lot of games this year more than usual--I should clarify: a lot of good personal memories. It's a good thing to find a girl who likes Kings/Lakers/Dodgers or sports in general. Makes life a little sweeter. Now we just need a football team!

Great story w the A's. I'm happy for them.
Two good wildcard games tonight.

I suspect you hate the Dodgers as much as I hate the Giants, so it works out just fine.

Yup, but only on game day. One of my wife's clients took us to a Giants-Dodgers game here in S.F. last year. He wore his Dodgers cap and we where a little worried because it was shortly after the Brian Stowe incident. Fortunately the only person who took retaliation was a seagull. It's a good thing Dodgers colors are blue and white. :smug:

Just like they hated it when the Giants beat the Rangers. :D

I loved that series, everyone in the country had written the Giants off, including the announcers on TV. I remember in NLCS reading about how the Phils were strategizing how they were going to play agianst the Yankees before they had even played one game against the Giants. Suprise! :hyper:

Tommy Lasorda was once announced at a Giants game long after he had retired. Giants fans gave him a good round of applause mixed with a few boos. Class act that he is, he stood up and tipped his hat. We hate/love the Dodgers here. Without the Dodgers baseball would not be nearly as fun.

The "powers that be" wanted a east coast world series. They thought the Phils were going to punk the Giants. The Giants broke the Phils spirit, notice they haven't been the same since they lost to the G-Men. It's like the big bad bully getting punched in the nose on the playground, then went running home cwying. :)
