Yup, Timmy is not the pitcher he used to be. With him it's all mechanics, if the slightest thing is off he turns into a mediocre pitcher. I wouldn't be suprised if the Giants let him go after his contract is up next year. Cain and Bumgardner on the other hand are a couple of horses. I predict they will be around for a long time. Then there is Posey winning the batting title after being out all of last year. He's another keeper.

Timmy should have taken that "BIG" contract the Giants offered him. SMH. Yes, Cain & Bumgardner are studs. And Posey's nothing but a baller. Zito also pitched well this year, his curve is soooo nasty, when it's on, it's hard to hit.

Yankees take ALDS Game 1. CC pitched quite a beaut'...2 runs in 8 2/3, got himself out of a few jams. But man, what tension at Camden Yards. Lots of booing, "Yankees Suck" chants, etc...two Yanks got pitches thrown near their heads, Baltimore cheers.

This will work as a playoff thread. My Giants getting our butts kicked by Cincinnati. Gonna be real hard to take three in Cincinatti, not impossible but really hard. My hat's off to the Reds they have just outplayed us.

Tigers seem to have everything falling right. Two at home to start, facing a team worse at fielding than they are. Rangers eliminated, and their role players are starting to play well. They have the best starting pitching left in the AL playoffs, so I'd say they have a shot. I don't see the A's winning all three in Oakland, especially with Verlander going in game five if needed. The Tigers have played lousy on the road, but they've been there. I think they win in four.

I'm glad to see Baltimore beat the Yankees. That means if we can sweep the A's tonight we can have a little rest between the next series and Verlander can pitch game 1 against whoever wins that series. It's also refreshing to see that we're not relying on offensive output solely from our #3 and #4 spots in the batting order, (Cabrera and Fielder) in order to get runs. Go Tigers!
