I'm hoping my Rockies step it up a bit. Pretty sad when we're getting beat by teams so far behind us! I hope that my senses were right and that we really did smell a Rocktober in the air. They are doing so much better than last year though. Hopefully they won't totally bomb out during this second half from bad playing. Good news is that our prime line up is pretty healthy. *crosses fingers*

If I'm down in SoCal or cheering on the AL I root for the Angels, the team I grew up with. My brother has had season tickets for about 10 years now.

I've been to the most games at Coors Field, have seen a few games at the "Big A" in Anaheim, one or two games at Dodgers Stadium, and walked past Camden Yards when my brother was going to school at Johns Hopkins. The Orioles weren't in town at the time so we just stared at the ball park, wishing for some sort of ball game

Atlanta is still on top. However, I have the feeling that's only because of the Nats' and Phillies' problems. I'm walking on eggshells hoping that the free-fall doesn't come.

Decided to catch a game last night. While it pains me to see the Astros so horrible (AND in the AL), good tickets can be had for CHEAP right now.

At least you're just having a bad season. The Seattle Mariners have been having a bad decade with no improvement in sight. We keep getting fed the same lame rebuilding excuse every year - for a whole decade!

I've got a bit to say about this PED thing, but will save it for later tonight when there's not as much need to multi-task around here.

My favorite ball parks? Hmmm... well, I only went to Dodgers Stadium a couple of times as a kid but my memory tells me it was kind of 'ghetto' and from what I can see on TV broadcasts, it doesn't look like a very spiffy park. The Big A is OK and I think Coors Field has totally spoiled me! Our grounds crew work their butts off rain, shine, snow and wind be darned! I don't think I've ever looked on that field and seen brown grass. The architecture is well done, the place is visually pleasing as a whole and the fans here are fun to watch.

Those are from press boxes--one behind home, 1st, & 3rd.
Had to wait a year for the press passes but eventually got them, through a friend. Amazing energy down there by home plate I guess it would be similar to being on stage in front of 10-20k people (I wouldn't know)

Saw Tim Hudson (Atlanta pitcher) get his ankle broken on TV last night in the 7th inning. Totally accidental but I am totally bummed.

Hudson had been really bringing it the whole game.

The Dodgers have continued where they left off at the All-Star break, and have swept the last 2 series (Nats and Jays). The Jays simply couldn't find a way to win and gave up 32 runs to the Dodgers in the 3-game set.

Combined with the struggles of the other teams in the NL West, the Dodgers have made their way from last place, and 9-1/2 games out, to first place with a 1-1/2 game lead on the D-Backs. Granted, most of the recent series have been against soft teams. They host 4 games against the Reds starting today. This should be a tougher test than what they've been facing.
