Yeah, I've seen a Squier Like that as well, I loved the look but 5 string is not for me.
It'd be a cool mod, and with an uncut P-bass Pickgaurd you could effectively conceal the routing.

Saddles that actually adjust through a substantial range of motion (up and down). You don't know what's going to happen to a bass/neck/bridge after 30 years, put another 80 cents worth of metal and an a bit of routing on it and you're covered.

+1 to single pups. Also, basses with fewer knobs that do more - I'm fed up with having two volumes, a master volume and three EQ knobs. Is it too much to ask for an active bass with a single pup, Stingray style, and P-bass style controls?!? Active/passive switch too.
Oh, and necks that are fretted for the first 7 frets, fretless upwards. TASTY!!!

Lined fretless basses that have the side dots located UNDER the fretlines, not in-between them. I've had to custom-order three fretlesses to have this as no one does it, but the side dots between the lines are useless to me.

Fender AM DLX Jazz, My 05' came that way. But I think it was the only year they did that.

Now that's the one feature that I really want on a bass. 92 cents below the lowest octave of Eb...
Eventually the crowds would know something was up when you put on your earmuffs.

I'd like to find a 6-string bass that uses two slightly slanted 4-string humbuckers. In the bridge position, I'd like it to be placed under the B-D strings and in the pickup in the middle position would be placed under the A-C strings.

I think it would really help even out the sound across the strings.

I have actually been toying with a very similar idea lately...You could do the two separate four-string pickups like you described and still have room for a single 6-string pickup in the neck position. I was hoping someone would mention a desire for a setup like this.
