Your prayers are requested...

Hello all~

Just wanted to let you all know that J had his surgery today and is resting in the hospital with Mom for overnight observation. He's complained very little since getting about 4mg of morphine and some demerol. Demerol seems to be better since some of morphine's side effects are rashes/itchiness.

He should be able to come home tomorrow morning from what I hear from Mom. Thanks to ALL of my fellow TB'ers that volunteered their prayers, thoughts, and good vibes towards us.

I look forward to posting some pics of J once he's home!

Again, thanks to all!! :D

Now off to get some sleep I have been missing since yesterday, and haven't been able to find....:hmm:

An update, for those who may be interested:

J has had another unfortunate break in the rods in his spinal column.

Both of the rods are broken this time. One is almost sticking out of the skin, the other is broken towards the inside. Either way...both breaks are obviously dangerous.

So surgery (again...what else?!) is on Tuesday, July 27th. The surgeon will be replacing both of the rods (cobalt/chrome) with new Titanium rods for more flexibility. Additionally, he'll be going through his pelvic area and will be performing a minor fusion to allow bones to continue to grow while the alignment is taking place.

Don't know how long this will take and how much recovery time is needed, but I'll keep you updated. I haven't been able to post pics previously because our digital camera was dropped twice, and I haven't been able to replace it. I will try taking some pics with my Blackberry and will post them after the surgery.

Since the last surgery, we got a new poodle, doctor recommended to keep J's anxiety level down. Frosty (puppy) has been a great addition to the family! He's 6 months now.

Your prayers will be very much appreciated!

Thanks for the update and he's got a metric ton of prayers, healing vibes and wishes of health coming his way. Please keep us posted when you can!

Thanks to everyone for chipping in with the prayers and well wishes! It feels so much better to have lots of cheering in your corner!

Better yet, my son always has lots to be thankful for!

Surgery will be at 1:00 PST tomorrow. We'll be trusting God for the best outcome!
