Rudy,
I am glad that your sons surgery was a success. As far as what your sons future plans are, I don't know? I would encourage you to pray for direction in doing what God is calling you to do and calling your son to do eventually in life.
We too have had a son that was born less than healthy. Our youngest son was born with aortic stenosis and we didn't find out until he was 2 days old and had to have emergency heart surgery. We were told eventually he would need valve replacement surgery and last July, he had to have that. God has been with us the entire time and we have seen more miracles with Zach than you would not believe.
With my wife and I, we have 4 kids. Our two oldest boys are my step kids but we have full custody of them. Our daughter was born and she was my first biological and I fell in love with her from day 1. When Zach was born, I was so excited because I finally had a biological son of my own. When Zach was born, he was one stocky little dude and I remember telling my wife the kid is going to be a linebacker someday. Two days later we found out about his heart condition and plans changed.
Unless a miracle happens, Zach will never be a professional football player but I am okay with that. I was praying one day and God opened up my eyes to something. He told me, "Zach is unique and can touch many other people. He will have a ministry to others with the same condition or similar conditions. He will be able to minister to them in ways others can't." With your son, he is no different. God loves Him and has something special for him. Yes, life here on earth will have it's struggles and hardships but at least your son, my son, you and I and every other person who serves Jesus can rest assured that one day He will change all of that and make everything better and I believe that day to be soon and coming quickly!
God bless you and your family!
Jay
