Your Signature String

Right now I'm rocking a set of D'Addario half rounds (50-105). They need some breaking in before the sticky/grippy feeling starts to fade, but when it does, you're left with a string that isn't as overwhelmingly bright as XL rounds without going all the way to flats. It's a nice middle ground that seems to work well with my bass and the styles of music I play.

I finally came into the TI flats world. I have to say they are great strings. I don't find them floppy at all. I like a little looseness for chords and bends. I have them on my Lakland 4401 and Ibanez SR530. Great balance, feel and tone.

Labella gold tapewound. There's nothing better.

I've tried the White and the White Copper but not the White Gold.
I've heard they have lots of top end but haven't heard if there is any bottom with them.
Do you still get thump or more like the sound of round wounds with a smoother feel? I don't like the sound of rounds so haven't tried the White Gold even though I've thought of it.

So, explain.

I like rubber band strings. I can get more sounds out of these strings than anything else to date on my J.
The low tension, low action and punch combined with the grind of the J matches quite well.
Its literally effortless to switch between techniques on these strings, and ive gotten more compliments from peers.

Doesn't Geddy Lee use these. I thought I read he does.

My signature strings? Easy!
For Jazz bass: Fender 8250! But wait - the old, discontinued version. :(
For Precision Bass: EBS Titanium Nickel! But wait (yeah, you guessed right) - the old, made in USA version, now discontinued. :(
Current version is made in China and half the price. Sorry, just kidding - the price is the same!

They don't really thump by themselves. They are however very versatile and round in tone and a bit of foam works wonders.
