YOUR TOP 3 BASS PEDALS...GO!

Well I'll repost based on what I actually have left on my board, but they are the bassis for my sound(s).

Submarine Designer - bass preamp
Lomenzo Hyperdrive - bass distortion
Microtubes B3K - bass drive

- Growl, Grit and Grind -

(1) Xotic SP Compressor (or Keeley 4 knob, both fine for sound but SP gets the nod for compactness)

=>

(2) MXR Bass Octave Delux - ("girth" not "growl" sound. Odd this one, it tracks one of my basses so much better than the other especial on G string)

=>

(3) sfx Micro Red Dragon. If I had to pick just one pedal it would be this. Mild drive level, but so good within it's range.


If I could add another it would be some sort of chorus, although the one I have Mooer Ensemble King is not dedicated bass-one. But it' OK and it does part time service on my guitar board.

1. Markbass Compressore. Not stylish, not spectacular - but essential. The best compressor I've ever tried.
2. Source Audio Dimension Reverb
3. Boss BF-3 Flanger. I have yet to see another flanger pedal that works so good with a bass guitar. It also does a slight volume boost, I like that... if i switch it on I play some prominent part anyways...

I too feel the same way about the BF3. I think it preforms very good with bass. I used to not like the volume spike but I wouldn't mind it now that I've engaged my db pad always. Ever try the vortex by TC? Also a very great flanger for bass IMO.

ehx micro pog...love the thing
modded mxr phase 90...modded with a switch the that goes between stock and a more subtle setting
and even tho i've only had it about a week, my green muff clone with mids knob. had my first practice tonight with the band and it sounded great. first show with it fri, fingers crossed.

This sort of thing is always changing for me, to be honest, but here are my current top three, most cherished pedals (in no particular order):

1) Darkglass B7K
2) Darkglass VMT (hopefully soon to be a Deluxe)
3) Aguilar TLC

Honorable Mention to Source Audio SB2 Dimension Reverb.
I play all sorts of styles on a regular basis.
