YOUR TOP 3 BASS PEDALS...GO!

EBS MultiComp, MXR Bass Preamp, TC Electronics Corona Chorus....all the other pedals on my board are secondary to those. My compressor adds hardness / glass to my tone as needed, usually on or off. My amp's 7 band eq is for the venue, but my MXR preamp is for a local control for my bass. My Chorus is set quite subtle and adds a high end shimmer and oddly gives me masses of warmth and sustain in slower songs. I could happily get by 90% of my playing with these three. If I was going to add a 4th, it would be my reverb. The least used for me is my fuzzes, but hey, they are there if I need them right?

I've done all sorts of Chorus pedals in the past. I thought I knew what to expect from chorus effects, but I stumbled across the Corona as a digital model on my Zoom MS-70 CDR and I was really taken with it. I bought the physical pedal because I found myself using it so much. I figured that if I was using it so much, I ought to go and get a real one. To my surprise, the model was very very close. The real pedal just gives me a little more variation and tweekability. But the basic effect is very well modeled, although it's a bit less subtle than the TC electronics unit.
Previously, I only used a chorus for fretless solo glides...Pino Pallidino influences here. Hey I'm an 80's boy at heart! I found that I really liked the Vintage CE model on my Zoom for this. I was so impressed with my Zoom, it caused me to ditch my old Boss and Digitec Chorus pedals.

I´m a big fan too of 80´s chorus sound. So I don´t like the subtle chorus that I tried or I had in the past. This is the reason that sometimes I missed the Microchorus, one of the cheaper chorus pedals that in a sense really it works for me.
