No, I think the most useless thread ever is the "What is the most useless thread ever?" thread. This one is a good 7 or 8 threads ahead of that one.

I'm good with those three. The only other pedal I have on my board is a Mooer green mile OD but it's really there to make my pedalboard less awkward. And the sansamp is there mostly as a back up for my amp. I rearrange my pedalboard at least once a week though sometimes having upto 9 pedals on my board. These three always stay on the board.

Outside of a tuner the two pedals I'll always have are an octaver and overdrive. After that my personal favorite is envelope filter but depending on the gig another dirt (fuzz, distortion or a second OD to do heavy and light grit) or a compressor might get the call.

the only change is the 3Leaf Octabvre for the SubT. I LOVE the Subterranea as part of a synth chain. IMO there's nothing better for modern synth sounds than the Subterranea into a Xerograph, especially if you add the Polytope to the mix. But as a straight ahead octaver I would grab the OC-2, Octamizer or my current pick, the "Tim Tuned" Octabvre.
What's funny to me is that phaser and delay are probably my favorite effects on bass, especially used together but unfortunately I rarely have an opportunity to use them outside of fooling around at home.

After much trial and tribulation and money spent on dozens of pedals, I actually ended up with only three pedals on my board, so for better or for worse, my top 3 are (In order or first to third on the board):
Triumvirate distortion by VFE- My primary distortion. I love it for it's ability to blend in different drive for lows, mids and highs.
Phase 90- Just sounds amazing in certain musical situations. Also pairs really well with the Triumvirate.
Idiotbox Swanson Superfuzz- My other distortion "color." Provides a very stark contrast to the VFE, but still retains all sorts of low-end goodness. Very over the top and aggressive for those moments when it's needed. I run the Phase 90 before the Swanson. I found that driving the Phase 90 after the Swanson sounded way harsh.
I have a Fuzzrocious Demon on order, so I may end up with a 4 pedal board. I play Prog-Pop music sort of like Muse meets Rush meets Tool.

Interesting. What made you guys choose the Demon over, say, the Rat Tail/Cat Tail or Team Awesome Fuzz Machine?
Good question. For me personally it was because I want the OCD vibe and grind. Plus, I already have my Rat needs met with the Blower Box. The Demon, to me, is a particular flavor I wanted to add to the mix. I didn't choose the TAFM mainly because I wasn't that enamored with its overall sound, although I love the design and signal path.
