hey war_n_peace, how does that one sound with bass ? i have the board for a clone of this already etched, just need to drill and populate.

cheers,

I own the Boss Dimension C as well and it is a fantastic chorus... to use at home. It eats lows. When I use it at practice, my bass just dissapears from the mix and that's a shame because it does sound nice on all 4 settings.

Lexicon MPX-1 Chorus, plus a little detune. Huge sonic heaven, plus you can play the rate/depth/mix with footpedals if that's your thing.

At $300 used it's all the modulation/delay/reverb/EQ/filtering you might ever need if you're prepared to dig deep into it - it's certainly no stompbox! The MPX-G2 has a tuner, a preamp, analog EQ and a Jamman (!) thrown in for good measure but costs a lot more - about $500 used.

got myself a boss CE2B for cheap (see thread entitled "score."), and an interesting little pedal by Aria called the DM-X10 "digital flanger/chorus."

i have to admit i really like the Aria. bear in mind, i haven't had a chance to really crank anything, but i've listened with headphones, and this pedal sounds awesome. nice and lush, and really wet if you want it to be. no tone difference when the pedal's on or off, no low-end loss (there's a blend knob, too... just in case), ALOT of tweakability (e. level, speed, depth, delay time, feedback, two flanger modes and one chorus mode), you can get CRAZY feedback-loop-type sounds from it, and it's built like a tank (yet still pretty light). and it was also cheap. and it's unique.

the CE2B sounds good, too.... but it doesn't sound as full as this little Aria.

i will update on this situation once i've had a chance to try these in a practice space! rock on, everyone!

after my extensive search, i found the chorus i was looking for:

Maxon CS9-pro!

this thing sounds AMAZING. it has a blend knob right on the front so you can easily dial in your preferred wet/dry mix. but even with the blend all the way on, no lows are lost! you just get a nice, full, lush chorus. awesome!

all the other choruses that i tried had something cool going on, but they weren't the sound i was after. the maxon nails it!

:hyper:

(on top of all that, i got it on ebay used, but it's in perfect condition. the seller said he'd only had it for about a month. it still has the box, instructions, warranty card, and plastic to wrap the pedal in. all for 160 shipped! yes!!)

Very cool. I've tried and love the original Ibanez CS9 (only 2 rate and depth controls) would you say the maxon is worth the significant price difference for the blend, delay time and true bypass?

i'd say so, actually. true bypass is nice, when done correctly (then again, a buffered bypass is also real nice, when done correctly), and the extra controls do give you more tonal options (which options don't get in the way of the original intent of the pedal).

a great find!

you know when you can just... hear the quality? i hear the quality of the workmanship/materials in the CS9pro.
