Your Ultimate Rig

ok, here is the deal

if you could choose anything to be in your ultimate rig, from past or present, money aside, what would make up ur ultimate rigs,

Heads
Cabs
Pre Amps
Power Amps
etc

for me it would be a GK 800rb, going into Mesa 2x12 and 2x15 and possibly a Sansamp Bass Driver pre-amp.

Edit: Would like to point out WOOOOOOO!!! this is my 100th post!!!

I'd like to spend more $$ and get a bigger rig than than is really practical for me -

Glockenklang Bass Art Preamp
QSC PLX 3602 - the Bugatti's weigh too much for me!
2 - Accugroove El Whappo's

I'll have to be satisfied with my current "big rig" -
Glockenklang HeartCore
Accugroove El Whappo Jr.

Dan K.

Add a second El Whappo and a Peavey Valverb (tube reverb/tremelo unit) to this and I'm set for life!
(ok, the second EW would be for ego only :smug: )

Ashly CL50e compressor
Peavey Classic 400
Accugroove El Whappo

Bergantino IP 310 for larger gigs
Bergantion IP 112 plus a Berg EX112 for medium gigs
Bergantino IP 112 for small stuff and rehearsals

I'd have to try a few preamps to decide which one for sure, but I was really impressed with the Low End True Voice, so I'd probably start there.

Another Ampeg SVT4PRO head with another SVT810E cab. An awesome wireless system. 4 Warwick Thumb basses (2 four string, 2 five string), 2 Warwick Thumb fretless basses (1 four string, 1 five string). I'm set for life.

Or get 2 Ampeg SVT2PRO heads with another SVT810E cab and the basses. :bassist: :bassist: :bassist: :bassist:

Inspiatrion given by Tim C. from RATM, with my own alterations:

3 Ampeg SVT-6s.
2 Ampeg 4x10s
1 Ampeg 2x15

SVT-6 clean into 2x15 (always clean, no effects)
SVT-6 clean into 4x10 (with effects loop)
SVT-6 mildly overdriven into 4x10
All miked, one SVT running with a DI as well.

That would keep my lows constantly clean and intact with the 2x15, then always have the grit of the mildly overdriven 4x10. By miking the cabs I get the sound of moving air in the mix, as well as the straight ahead tone of the DI'ed signal.

In the signal order

Bass
Korg DTR-2000 (connected to an output of the RBI)
SansAmp Tech 21 RBI (running a coloured output to an . . . )
Ampeg SVT-II
Clean output from the RBI into a nice mic-pre of some variety, or some other nice clean tube preamp, into an
Ampeg SVT-300.

The SVT-II would run 2x Marshall VBC810s or 2x Vintage Ampeg 810s or 2x Berg NV610s

The SVT-300 would run 2x Peavey 215-D BWs or 2x Berg 215s

1x 810 (or 610) and 1x 215 (on its side) at each side of the stage.

Would also be running a wireless system and possibly a compressor of some sort.
