Yves Carbonne

I've been seeing you in the forums for a while, but finally got a chance to spend some time listening to the clips on your site - wow! I love your playing - great mix of jazz knowledge, funky styles, and killer tone. Your fretless playing is some of the best I've heard in a long time. You definitely rank on one of my new favorite players list. If you ever do one of those master classes here in the states, please let me know, would love to be a part of that!

YC,

I just happened to come across your website when I was doing a bassist search a few days ago. You are an amazing talent. Thanks for sharing your talent with us through your website. I hope I get the opportunity to see you perform in the future.

My main concept for soloing is to play what I hear - it will be a work for the rest of my life! Chords, scales and of course rhythms: everything is important to learn, but the most important thing is imagination. Just trying to imagine what you would like to hear!
