The sound got marginally better in the second half of the show, but the sound-tech was the obvious cause of several issues:
1) they tried to play a clip of James and Kirk (from Metallica) performing the National Anthem - but it was muted the whole time
2) the battery in the singer’s mic died on the second song
3) took 30 seconds into ‘Closer to the Heart’ for the acoustic to be un-muted, then turned up to an audible level - but when he went back to electric, the electric was WAY TOO LOUD (sound-tech had boasted the wrong channel)
Those were the obvious, irrefutable errors.
Beyond that, the overall mix was just lopsided and unbalanced.
All of it was doubly annoying because the band was obviously playing and singing the songs EXTREMELY well.
Bottom line: if you’re a Rush fan and YYNOT comes to your town, go see them!
But I’ve seen several shows in that venue and sound is always bad - so despite how close it is, I think I’m done going to shows there
