It's a pool cue.
I'm way more disinterested in the wholly uninteresting headstock design than I am in the textured neck. If one ever shows up in the Smashville area, I wanna give it a try. Won't know if its a gimmick for me or not until I play it.
Where are these made? I've found all the other specs except country of origin.
I don't care what y'all say, me likey!
They actually discontinued 'The Mule' bass. Only selling guitars for the foreseeable future. Of course, that can quite easily change. They are also selling the patented neck to other manufacturers like Eastwood to use under license.Resurrecting an old thread. I own a Mule and can confirm the Z-glide is something different and while I'm not sure about the speed. It kind of adds a bit of luxury to the neck, like all my other basses should have it. The feel disappears quickly and of course there actually is less friction because the z glide encourages a lighter touch.
That being said, The neck is a bit tight for a 5er. Measures 1.75" at the nut with a 7mm string spacing and only 2.5" at the last fret. The string spacing at the bridge is only 13mm. I don't mind the spacing but it feels more suited to a guitar player than bass, it is easier to play chords and quickly move around the fretboard, but ideally I would like a wider spacing at the bridge.
I'm also not very fond of the preamp. I like the 2 band but it does not seem to have enough ooomph. I'm actually going to replace it with a Norstrand 2B so I can switch from active to passive.
The pups are a custom soapbars. They are smaller than almost every other soapbar on the market and I was wondering if they are blade style under the housing or poles. I have a roadtrip to highland park set for next week. I'm picking up a pearloid pickguard from Dean so I'll have a list of questions for him to clarify some of the items in the build.
Apparently, the MULE will have an update in 2024, but Dean said they will be quite a bit more expensive than the first run.
