zoom b2.1u question

I just recieved the zoom i bought from another TBer. Its great but I cant figure out how to run more than one effect at the same time. I want to run a wah and overdrive together.
I spent the better part of an hour trying to figure it out. Im beginning to think you can only run one effect at a time.

Please tell me if its possible.

You can do multiple effects

All you do is, select the 1st effect (using the left swivel knob), click it on, then use the little buttons to select the variation of the effect. Then using the knob turn it to the next effect and again turn it on and use the buttons to again to pick the desire variation.

You can actually run them all at once if you wanted.

Everytime I try the first one shuts off when I turn the second one on.

No, that should not happen. You need to explain what you are doing. For example, if you don't save the presets and go out and back to the same preset number they are not around. Or maybe you want to have effects from the same effect section, let's say chorus and flanger, that's not doable. Chorus and delay and compression and auto wah and eq and amp emulation, that's fine.

When you say overdrive are you referring to ODB-3? You can combine effects; however, they must be sequential in the order of "comp/limit" to "reverb". You cannot do two effects from the same area like "octave" and "phaser" from the "wah/efx" channel. I assume you downloaded the manual?

Hi Rev,
Well welcome to the Zoom community. There is a bit of a learning curve but keep at it soon you will grok the possibilities.
Refer to the cheat sheets linked in my sig line. You can indeed have wah and distortion going and more.

The effects are set up in modules with various effects in each module. Within each module selected by turning the left knob you can then turn in/off each module using the foot switches and using the select type button to choose the effects and then the parameter knobs to fine tune the sounds. Once you have a sound to save then press the save button once, choose a location using the foot switches and then save again.

Yes I mean odb 3.

I have my patches set up in a performance order of sorts with my 'clean' sounds surrounded by 'effects' sounds where I add things like modulation, envelope followers or pitch shifters.

Remember the number bank patches are factory presets and cannot be changed it is the letter banks that can be changed and saved. You should be able to build pretty complex sounds using an effect in each module, plus with the wah you can have it either before or after the distortion.
