Although there are many many posts in our forum about ZOOM B3 (specs, features, reviews, impressions, usage, etc.) obviously I cannot read them all (they are countless
) in order to seek for a clear answer to my queries.
I'm about to purchase this unit soon. I haven't ever tested it (it's not available in my country) but I have read some reviews, which somehow covering my needs. I could directly ask these questions to zoom company and get official answers, but obviously I'm seeking for honest-unaffected answers, which can be achieved only by owners-users and not from companies...
I have a MarkBass Big bang amp head (500W @ 4Ohm) and a Markbass standard 4x10 cab (800W @ 4Ohm)...and I'am totally amazed about the tone, the power, the clarity, the flexibility and the character of this rig, which this brand company offers. I could speak for hours about how incredible these amps and cabs are. I don't ever want to loose this...
Well, I'm seeking for a versatile (small size-small weight-easy tranfer) but reliable (all-in-one) effect unit, in order to add some effects occasionally to my allready "perfect" sound. I don't want/need stompboxes.
I will give you some of my standards in order to understand clearly what I'm seeking for:
1.) I always perform via amp/cab (live gigs, studio recordings, home studio recordings, rehearsals, etc.), which means that I will never had to use this effect unit as a standalone/independent unit. Amp and cab will always give the power/character/tone and the effect unit (Zoom B3) will only add the prefered effects to the allready signal. So...which connection method should i follow in order to achieve that ? Do i need to connect this effect unit directly to the amp head ? In which way ?
2.) According to previous question...I obviously want my gain and master volume to be determined only by my amp and not always split my mind in countless pieces...which gain level has my amp? lets reduce some gain from the amp, lets increase some gain from Zoom B3, lets cut some volume from the effect unit, lets perform in passive mode via ZOOM B3. then why I am still clipping? what's the matter? what to do? and these kind of issues. Is this feasible ? I only need the effects...nothing more and nothing less.
3.) As I sad previously, I don't want anything to "color" my sound. Most important, I don't want/need digital simulations of amps or cabs. I just need usefull effects to add to my standard sound without transforming the distinguished sound of my MarkBass...Just that. Can I achieve that by this ZOOM B3 effect unit ?
