Zoom B3 As Preamp Part 2

OK guys, I pulled the trigger and got one with the expression pedal. Holy moly very overwhelming right now. Just playing with the presets. Haven't even started playing with my own settings yet. Very impressed.

Do you guys use other pedals with the B3? I plan on mainly using it as a stand alone for small gigs, but I can see me using it on my board with other effects.

My rig: ZOOM B3 - Crown XLS 1500 - Fearful 12/6/1 :)

I always use amp sims (70-100% balance), fearful is great choice for full range monitor!

That is very close to my rig in the near future. Not quite the same but very close:

B3>Crest Prolite>Barefaced Big Baby 2.

Currently I am running the B3 into this:

Very full range, but also very very heavy!

By bend notes you mean just increasing pitch? Doesn't the Whammy sim do that?

I mean having the ability to set an interval, say a 5th, and then using the expression pedal to bend a note up to that interval. There are a couple of pitch shift effects where you can pick an interval and the B3 will play it instead of the actual fingered note, but the expression pedal functionality for those effects adjusts volume (IIRC) and not pitch.

Off the top of my head I'm not familiar with the Whammy sim, so maybe what I'm looking for is something that I've overlooked?

I think so, I'm almost sure you can set different intervals on the whammy sim. I think I remember reading some where before the whammy was reissued, that the B3 was the only pedal available that would do what it does.

So I dug my manual out and went digging through the effects list. I'm right in that the PitchSHFT and MonoPitch effects don't have any expression pedal functionality beyond wet/dry balance. However, there are two effects that I had previously overlooked that do exactly what I'm looking for: PDL Pitch and PDL MnPit. I'm not sure if they're an exact Whammy copy (and I've never played with a real Whammy anyway) but they do let you get all bendy with your foot, if that's your thing. Today I learned.

I've never used a whammy either but it's the nearest thing, as far as I'm aware, that compares to the PDL sims.
Seen as the B3 is sims of existing pedals, with one or two of Zoom's own added, I think it's a safe bet.

My dream come true today.A couple of Yamaha DXR15 is my rig now and with the B3 together i can have 22 amps to choice with the power and crystal clear sound of them.I have 2200w continuous or better 1200w RMS to shake every gig i play(133db SPL).Wait until a good review of them. The price of them is 777 euros for one,and i got them very little used from a friend for 900 both.Hahaaaa:hyper::bassist:

Nice to see you're happy!!

I understand your problem regarding volume, I had to take my rig out of my music room, at 10% everything shakes! (I live in an apartment)

My living room,is 80cm2 with wood on roof and we made a lot of rehearsals in there with my band, not extreme loud but...you know ..loud.This speakers shakes the hell out of the house foundations.I live in detached house.:)

Oh how I miss living in the countryside, where my nearest neighbours were over a km away! We used to have band practice outside with a 10.000W PA! Now, at home, I am limited to monitors or GK combo at low volumes, or headphones if I want loud :(

(BTW, I think you have an extra "c" in your post, I am guessing that your room is 80m2, or you have very small bandmates ;) )
