Zoom B3 As Preamp Part 2

I run my B3 through a Pre-EVO Ashdown ABM500. It has Preamp In connections in the back. Did the later models do away with that?

All of these levels look fine and a very hot signal should be resulting from the B3's Left 1/4" Out.

Despite the feeding of this hot signal directly into the amp's FX Return, the amp's Master knob should still govern the realized volume. Is this knob raised? Perhaps another front-panel knob also needs raising?

Output on amp is at full! Very confused!

Are you sure a signal is coming out of the B3's L-Out? Perhaps the B3 is at fault.

Edit: Run the B3 into the front of the amp and gauge the signal strength based on your experience with this amp. You should find the B3's signal very hot through this test.

Then It's definitely something with the inputs in the back. control the volume of the direct input. When I connect the B3 into the stereo line inputs in the back of my Ashdown it works fine but I'm not a big fan of the sound I get. Also, the old models have a separate volume control next to the inputs. Ashdown does seem to employ some kind of EQ even on those lines in.

A little off topic, sorry... Asked this (probably poorly) in Miscellaneous and it sort of veered away from what I wanted. Can I run my B3 via USB into my win 7 laptop and play along with CDs, mp3s, etc, monitoring thru the headphone out?

I know I should just try, but I'm 90 miles away from my gear for a few more days.
