How does it compare to the M9? I'm looking for something with tap capatibility that can take care of my delay, reverb and modulation needs(flanger, phaser, chorus,...), and these two are the best candidates. So, have you played the m9, if not, can you do it and report back which is better?

@Musicphan: So, what are your feelings about the unit now that you've spent some time with it? Is it worth the 200€ that it is from japan? How are the delays and modulation options on there? You're one of the first to have it, so, I think there are a lot of people eager to hear something about this.

What do you think of the computer based software (assuming it supports it)? I have the G3 and find that the software is one of its best features. I checked out the Ishibashi site but can't find the B3 listed; did you need to contact them directly about it?

i am looking to replace the M9 with the B3 or use it together in the same board. how does the B3 compare to the m9, tonewise i mean, how good is the filters? modulations?? synth? dirt? amp sim? XLR?
I'm sure I can answer my own questions by reading the manual, but I'm too lazy...
1) Is the looper quantized (starts and stops exactly on the beat, based on the tempo, regardless of how "off" your button press is)?
2) Are there independent volume controls for the drum track and the bass track when recording?
I think Line 6 dropped the ball... People have been clamoring for bass amp models for the HD series. But, they never come... With the amp models, the G3/B3 is really what the Line 6 M13/9/5/ should have been, but isn't.
It has all the amp models I'd want in a Line 6 product (GK800RB, Ampeg Fliptop, Ampeg SVT) and a couple I'd never have expected (Little Mark, Aguilar DB750) which is just icing on the cake.
I personally think that Zoom is going to sell a ton of these things and is going to capture the bass market for multi-effects. I really like my HD bean for guitar, but this is going to make a great addition for my bass playing. It'd be nice if you could have a few more effects, but honestly, I don't really NEED that many effects for the stuff I play... I just like messing around with lots of different effects... Although, now that I think about it, I may be able to connect this to my HD Bean for any additional effects I may want to tinker with. The Zoom B3, with the HD Bean's "whammy" effect could probably pull off some cool sounds as the bean's "whammy" is multi-phonic. Unfortunately, connecting two B3s seems silly - might as well have a couple different products if you're going to chain multi-effects together.
If you (or anyone who owns one of these things) has a chance, PLEASE POST SOME SOUND CLIPS!!!! (These things make it so easy, but there are so few clips out there!)

Can you not get this State side yet? I was just surprised by that.
I hate ishibashi because they are just too greedy to deal with. Personal comment there, not sure if I should be saying that, but it is my opinion.

They have been selling them in a few places, but many are selling out as soon as they get them in... Check ebay as there have been a few on there.
I have to update my other post... It looks like Line 6 actually added a Flip Top model to their HD lineup... It's a start. I'd like to see how the Line 6 Flip Top compares to the B3 Flip Top. If I had a B3 (hint hint) I'd do it myself!

Thanks for the super easy to follow tutorial. When changing patches, do you have to scroll all the way up or down to your destination, or is there any shortcut?

You can rearrange the order of the patches via the computer interface, so you can put ones you switch between right next to each other.
I got that same answer on the other B3 thread - maybe it was from you.
The thing is: Suppose you have 99 patches, and you use all of them. Now suppose the band leader calls out a song that is way up the patch list from the last one.
If you have to scroll up and down, back and forth through tens of presets ... that's a less than perfect design.

Thanks a bunch for posting this. I've been checking out different pedals online for some time and haven't been able to settle on anything.(I live about 140 miles from the nearest music store, so can't just go check them out whenever I want) This may be exactly what I'm looking for. Hopefully you'll keep posting as you learn more about this amazing contraption. Thanks again
