Zoom b3 patch Ideas

Does any know how to get the same sound like Duran Duran John Taylor sound in this Zoom B3 model?

John Taylor's sound is very clean with strong upper mids and the highs rolled off (i'd say everything about 3k-4k is pretty much gone). A good boost in the 1k-2k range

Low mids are present but not strong and low lows are not there strongly, either.

On a B3, I'd try using the limiter into the Avalon U5. Put a graphic EQ in between to tweak the tone.

John definitely liked to use both pickups, probably favoring the bridge from the sound of it.

Released as following function update and bug fix version.

1. When using internal RHYTHM, hi-hat does not sound sometimes with particular TEMPO setting.
2. When using Z-Syn, B3 does not sound sometimes in the case of an excessive input level.
3. Supported Windows 8.

Regarding John Taylor, You Tube has a few of his tracks isolated, I always find it interesting how a bass sounds soloed compared to it mixed in.

great thread! just got my B3 yesterday and used it on our gig..very very useful, specialy with the music we play...

need help to get that "Mark King sound" ..i know theres a flanger in it but not sure cos havnt used modulations until now. any help on getting that sound or atleast close to it would realy mean alot. Thanks!

Regarding John Taylor, You Tube has a few of his tracks isolated, I always find it interesting how a bass sounds soloed compared to it mixed in.

WOW! I never thought to look for isolated tracks on YouTube. It's interesting to hear the subtle inconsistencies flubbed notes and accidental hits. They aren't apparent to me on the actual recording at all.

This makes me feel much better about my own playing -- even though I know that I still have a long way to go.

Here's a new patch I've came up with. this patch has a heavy grind sound that would be excellent for hard rock and heavy metal music.

Modern bass distortion 3

Section 1: znr: thresh: 18, detect: grnlft, level: 100

Section 2: metalwrld: gain: 25, tone: 45, level: 90, balance: 18

Section 3: bassdrive: bass: 4, treble: 3, presence: 0, gain: 57, blend: 75, level: 90, mid: 5

Btw, If anyone here can post your settings for " Gospel songs " or Church songs, Ex: Hillsong, Planetshakers, Parachute Band , etc as I am playing on church and I really want to have ideas for our music...

Look there for my SVT patches (with and without OD), also a couple of Sadowsky pre patches that may sound familiar to you ... Sad has a thick-yet-defined bottom end
