Zoom b3 patch Ideas

Here's a new patch I've came up with. this patch duplicates the heavy distortion sound of a fuzzrocious rat tail distortion pedal.

Rat tail

Section 1: znr: thresh: 17, detect: grnlft, level: 90

Section 2: squeak: gain: 40, tone: 50, level: 100, balance: 25

Section 3: svt: bass: 4, mid: 5, treble: 3, midfq: 350 hz, gain: 40,
level: 57, ultra: low, cab: sb4x12, mix: 50

Here's another patch idea I came up with. this patch closely duplicates the overdriven boost sound of a devi ever dark boost pedal.

Dark boost

Section 1: znr: thresh: 17, detect: grnlft, level: 100

Section 2: bass bb: gain: 18, bass: 4, treble: 3, balance: 25, level: 80

Section 3: acoustic: bass: 4, mid: 5, treble: 3, midfq: 300 hz, gain: 40, level: 90, bright: off, cab: ac1x18, level: 50

Some great patches here, thanks to all those that have taken the time to upload them.
I'm a new owner and still finding my way around it, although I did gig it the day after I got it. Very impressed.
Ok, I have a request. I'd like to get the tone Bruce Foxton uses on Town called Malice.
I know he uses Marshall so that's a starting block I guess, as is playing a P with a pick, but I've never used distortion or overdrives on bass. I know he doesn't use one but I'm guessing if I did it would fatten the tone up a bit.
There seems to be quite a few in the B3 and not being familiar with any of them I thought I'd ask here if anyone can suggest where to start looking for that tone.

Thanks for any pointers.

Here's a new patch idea I came up with. this patch closely duplicates lemmy kilmister's distorted bass sound. a great to try for playing motorhead songs.

Anytime dude...we all do our best coming up with nifty patches. that sound you're looking for does sounds like a p bass played though a marshall super bass. perhaps this patch might help you get that sound.

Section 1: m comp: tresh: 25, ratio: 5, level: 90, attack: 5

Section 2: exciter: bass: 3, treble: 4, level: 90

Section 3: super b: bass: 4, mid: 5, treble: 3, midfq: 4000hz, gain: 40, level: 85, presence: 7, cab: ha4x10, mix: 50

Just ran across this thread!

I also hope to have some patches to contribute in the not so distant future, but I've only had my B3 for about three weeks now. I've gotten my "gig patch" going, with my essential effects in one patch that I treat as a mini pedalboard (octaver, envelope and the 3rd slot rotates between graphic EQ and comp)... This patch is the only patch I currently NEED for gigs, I just turn on/off each slot as needed.

I've started exploring though! I'm currently working on a patch to sound like the envelope side of a Pigtronix EP2 (almost done and already pretty convincing!), a "preamp" patch for my Pbass and a patch for doing Jaco's Slang. I'm also looking to do some synthy/dub type effects for ny urban gospel band as well...

I'll definitely have to go back through this thread and see what you guys are posting. :bassist:

I've been playing around with a new patch, inspired by the [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]. While I'm sure that the Thumpinator does its job extremely well, the >$175 pricepoint feels a wee bit extreme.

My B3 Thumpinator is pretty makeshift, and I totally welcome suggestions on making it better. I'm using the Parametric EQ to notch out the 20hz frequencies, and a little to each side. From what I can tell, it's the only patch that goes this low. If the Q setting could be directional, that would be a bonus, but you get what you get.

  • Para EQ
    • Freq1: 20hz
    • Q1: 8
    • Gain: -20
    • Freq2: 20hz (alt: 25)
    • Q2: 8 (alt: 16)
    • Gain: -20db
    • Level: 75
  • Exciter
    • Bass: 4
