Zoom b3 patch Ideas

Hi guys, I just got this mean machine yesterday and I am really digging the MonoSynth effect on this bad boy. However, I am just wondering if there are any settings in that effect to eliminate the fart like sound at the beginning of the long sustain whenever I hit a new note. I kind of like it to be like an organ effect, (I hate the Z organ effect, I feel like it's off key). Thank you!

Can anyone give me the preset patch settings for Dbl comp from the B3 ( I think thats what it was called ) .
I have sold mine and have now got a MS60B, and would like to see if I can get it on here.

You know, you can load the edit and share software, AND the factory presets without having a B3.

I don't think the MS-60b has the edit and share ability btw.
I would imagine the default on the MS-60b is the same as the B3 though as its the same patch (Unless I misunderstand what your asking).
160 comp Thresh -22, Ratio 4, Gain 6, Knee Hard, Level 100.

It does not. However, as PilbaraBass said, you can still download the edit and share software and view the B3 factory preset settings.

Did not realize you could still get into edit and share software (what an idiot I am)
Just copied the settings on B3 Dblcomp (onto piece of paper) and entered them into my MS60B.........BRILLIANT !

I know this because, when I first put E&S on my computer, the software refused to recognise the B3.

It was a hardware conflict that zoom brilliantly helped me solve.

Anybody manage to find a tone similar to James Johnston of Biffy Clyro? Particularly little hospitals, I'm finding it really difficult to get that awesome driven tone he manages to get while in drop C#/C! Any body fancy giving me a hand? I know he has a sansamp in his arsenal but I'm clueless when it comes to finding a decent setting for that on the B3

He uses the Boss ODB3, but it may also come from the Ashdown heads. Just make sure you use a good clean blend. Otherwise, use a jazz/P bass with a pick.

For the final patch level go to total menu.In the left screen there is a patch level button.For the recording level go to global menu,right screen you have a balance monitor volume (B3/DAW) and rec gain.

I'm already at 20% in the total level of my patch. I'm not sure but I'm still getting crazy spikes with my sound. I'm using audacity, I use this when recording using my guitar using a Fender mustang amp and I never encountered this problem. The levels is just too loud, but I'll try what you said and report back.

It's already set to passive as I am using a Washburn T12 bass guitar, thank you for your input. I appreciate it.

With how much buffer you record?
Try to rise the latency of the asio driver to 5 ms.Find the Asio menu of B3 in any DAW you have.In the advance tab check the "Notify for audio drop outs".Record some audio and see if a message for drops appears.Rise the buffer at 5 ms and try higher until spikes gone.

I'm sorry, I know I was speaking gibberish when I was typing my last reply.

I usually incorporate the sound waves that I see on the screen when I am recording in audacity, when I am using a guitar, you see a normal sound wave like this.

But when I am using the B3 with my bass, you see the waves completely filled out on the graph. That is how I know the recording is too loud. I never really fiddle on the settings of Audacity, but I will do what you suggested and see where it leads me.

Ok,lets take it from the beginning:

When you record your guitar with fender amp,what method you use?
Microphone and with what audio interface?
The fender have a audio interface like B3?
In Audio settings of Audacity,what type of audio driver you have?

Try to record your bass without the B3,and use the guitar method.Is the volumes ok?
Try the opposite,connect your guitar in B3 and record.Is the volumes ok?

The Fender mustang has it's own DAW interface. It has a USB slot like the b3 does.

I'm gonna try everything later when I get home.

To get a Lo-Fi sound just use EQ ... kill everything above 5k and everything below 200Hz and you pretty much have it. If it doesn't sound lo-fi enough keep pulling out frequencies, ultimately ending up with a center around 3k
