Zoom b3 patch Ideas

Oh that's right. he did use an xotic bass bb as his overdrive. I only suggested the metallic grind patch to hollowox84 because the clip does kinda sound like bryan was using a darkglass pedal, but I must of been mistaken because of how punchy and metallic his bass sounded in the clip. but the bass bb and the mxr d.i could work.
Here's a new patch idea I came up with. this patch is similar to mid-drive, only with a tube screamer model for a more overdriven sound.
Mid-drive 2
Section 1: optocomp: drive: 7, tone: 40, level: 50
Section 2: t-scream: gain: 30, tone: 75, level: 100, balance: 25
Section 3: acoustic: bass: 4, mid: 5, treble: 2, midfq: 300hz, gain: 45, level: 90, bright: off, cab: ag8x10, mix: 50
Mid-drive 2
Section 1: optocomp: drive: 7, tone: 40, level: 50

Here's a new patch I came up with. this patch has an stacked overdrive sound that has edge and punch. great for metal and djent music.

This isn't sounding spot on to me, so if anyone has any ideas how to adjust it to make if better, that would be great!

RATM tone based on a few songs on evil empire album;
I made it in the ms60b so that I wouldn't accidentally lose any settings with the b3 auto save so there may be easier minor differences in sound of settings too (I've found that some sounds are slightly different between the two pedals, and some parameters are a big different)
1. Bass BB:
Gain 15 bass 4 treble 5
Blend 100 level 70
2. Bass graphic eq:
50hz -3 120hz -3 400hz 5
500 hz -8 800hz -5 4.5khz 2
10kz -6 level 99
3 SUT amp:
Bass 5 mid 2 treble 4
Mid F 350hz gain 23 level 32
Ultra off, cab HA 4x10, mix 50
Hard to get any closer to what I was hearing without getting too boomy or tinny...
Also impossible to get the wah or other effects on with only 3 slots on a B3, but if you have a b3 with an expression pedal and an ms60b you could make a patch across the two pedals that should do it, for the price of a decent dedicated bass wah you could get both an M audio expresión pedal for the b3 and an ms60b, so if you wanted to save up a bit and get those it would be worth it.
I'm not a fan of Arctic monkeys but I would imagine that it would be a similar case with them, that they would use a lot of effects that would be hard to replicate in just the b3 alone. The b3 is a beast but zoom suck for limiting it to 3 effects.

If you're looking for a warm distorted bass sound, give this patch a try. this is a patch I created to duplicate a fuzzrocious dark driving pedal.
Section 1: m comp: thresh:20, ratio: 4, level: 90, attack: 7
Section 2: bass bb: gain: 10, bass: 3, treble: -2, blend: 40, level: 80
Section 3: monotone: bass: 4, mid: 4, treble: 3, midfq: 250hz, gain: 45, level: 90, char: flat, cab: ag1x15, mix: 50

btw it's quite the opposite. I sent you a message with the gear the bass player uses in each song. There are no compressors, wahs or anything really. It's just distortions/over drives. It's a lot easier then the RATM tone
YW, I'll have a look later while I'm setting up the intonation on the bass, should have a bit of time to mess around with some sounds if nothing comes up.

Simple question: How do you go the your desired effect?
I just hit the patch footswitch and scroll my way into the Xotic BB (or any other effect), but that way will moderate the patch I'm working in - and save that effect into that patch.
What is "the right way" to select an effect, and not mess up a perfectly good patch?

I do all my patch-tweaking in Edit & Share. It's much easier to copy a patch you want to work on and dump it in another unused patch so that you can keep the original. Also being able to see all the patches at once helps me keep track of them better - less likely to forget about that awesome dirt patch hiding down there in J3.
1) You wouldn't have insomnia after that. There'd be no such thing. You wouldn't sleep ever again. 2) If you did that and lived to tell the tale, you'd be heralded as the 2nd greatest man of modern times, 2nd to Crystalman and Co of course, as they created this wonderful place

B3, MacBook, headphones and a bass - now I could use two weeks extra summer vacation just to play with the B3.
Out goes many of the pre-installed patches, and in goes my own patches.
Or just a page with the created soundbites. I see a few people actually have recorded a sample of the sounds they create.
Would be perfect with a page with only sound samples.
