Zoom MS-60B Firmware Update 2.0 (June 2017)

I am still running XP Pro on my pc at home and this update will not even open, it also would not open on my chromebook.

I don't know a thing about chromebook, but I know that the MS-60 V2 firmware is not supported in WinXP.

Per the instructions (included in the V2 firmware download):

Supported Windows Operating Systems:

Windows® 7 SP1 or later (32-bit/64-bit)
Windows® 8.1 (32-bit/64-bit)
Windows® 10.1 (32-bit/64-bit)

Thank you for that, my 60B is updated i was just adding to the subject of challenges to the update. I keep the XP pro on that machine because it supports all the software I have and no way could I afford to update.

What can you actually use that DMC.micro controller for with the zoom? From their manual it appears that you can only cycle through patches and you don't need the controller to do that.

I want one! What am I missing?

...but there are applications that don't run on this updates. And now, if you want, you can't download Yosemite, for example.

You can still update to El Capitan, which I would recommend if possible as your current OS won't be receiving security updates.

But I appreciate the fact you may be running legacy software that may not work on a newer OS (I've run into similar issues myself years ago - but only when there's been a substantial change to the system core - ie windows 98 to XP), but I'd be very surprised if anything that runs on 10.9 won't work on 10.10 or 10.11.

From my reading you will be able to cycle patches up and down, have a tap tempo and possibly use an expression pedal. I am hoping some of the more clever folks will get one and suss things out. the micro is on my list because it may solve several problems, i am hoping it will work with the B3 and for sure it will work with my AdrenaLinn III.

Hmm - don't think so. A Disaster Area response I saw somewhere (GearPage?) stated that MS pedals respond only to program change and a tuner control CC. No expression pedal, and (I conclude) no tap tempo. (DA are not correct - it is possible - the ZPI does it - but apparently not the DA DMCmicro.) I expect the B3 will at best respond similarly.

It only takes one position. You're thinking of the B3N.

All of the effects/amps on the MS60B only take one slot, they can just have more than one page. This was the same as the B3.

The user manual says

- this way it works for me, I can see the "DSP Full!" message in such cases.
Is ti possible that I have some older version with less DSP power? I don`t think so...

I think that combining more than one amp model can be processor hungry and you would get that message. I've never received it and I regularly use 4 effects (only one amp model though). This limitation is the same on the B3 and the B3n.
