Your pedal works with the edit and share software, hook it up to your computer and you can grab some of the latest patches and tweak yours a lot easier.

Sorry for the late response. Can't believe I hadn't checked this thread all this while :meh:

Anyone out here rocking their MS70CDR units? Opinions? I've been looking to get a decent reverb - the only reverb cheaper than this is a Digitech Digiverb which I'm not too sure about. Plus, the CDR does much, much more than reverbs. I have been browsing threads around TB, seems like a sweet little thing, this.

I don't really have the luxury of checking these (i.e. the reverb options I might be looking at) out myself, as hardly any physical stores here have these pedals on the shelf :(

It's one of Zooms gems. I've just bought a TC Electronics Corona Chorus to sit earlier in my chain. My MS-70CDR sits on the end of my chain for the ambient effects. To be honest, there is little between the original and model, Zoom pretty much nailed this effect very accurately. Infact, I think the Zoom is a slightly nicer sound in stock, but the TC pedal is more customisable and has three or four distinct sounds. After a little tweeking, I've made the two pretty much sound the same. But it goes to show that where digital modelling and Modulation is concerned, it's awfully close!

Just picked up a B1ON to go with my MS60B, B2.1u, 506II, 506 n my original 9002 guitar unit. Had a 708 but sold it, plus several K--gs but always seem to come back to Zoom! I'll never sell my Korg G5 Synth nor the B1ON, MS60B or 9002 (nostalgia/guitar) coz Zoom always does right by bassists!

My Zoom B1X tragically died just before a jam session last week :crying: A new B1Xon should soon be on its way to my board, though :) I have to say that I am a little bit apprehensive, given that the pitch shifting on the B1X was evidently better than that on my MS70CDR - I think the pitch shifter module on the B1Xon won't be all that different from the one on the MS70. Hoping for the best, though. Really excited about the looper as well :)

I've been lurking here for a while, and I'm still not sure that I fully understand the nuances of the Zoom product line, so I thought I'd go ahead and ask.

What I've read so far that unit offers the most versatility but that may be an inaccurate assessment. I know that the MS60B can stack an additional effect in the patch, but my understanding is that the 60 does not have a balanced output, headphone amp, or usb output. Was there an improvement in the effects in the 60B over what they'd originally programmed in the B3?

A couple more questions regarding the B3: if you set up three effects in a patch, can you still activate/deactivate the individual effects in the three bays, or are all the effects in a patch always on? Also, can you run audio into the B3, so you could hear it while using the B3 as a headphone amp?

I don't know anything about the B2 or B1x units, how do they compare to the B3?

I don't own a Zoom B3, but I do own a B1x and MS70CDR, so, from what I do know, here's my assessment - the earlier B units (B1,B1x, B2, B2.1u) are totally different from the current line (MS series, B3, the 'on' series). While the old pedals had several fixed slots, e.g. in the B1x, you had (in series) a compressor/limiter slot, an EFX slot (this had the octaver, phaser, filter fx), a drive slot (amp sims), EQ, noise reduction, modulation (chorus, flangers, pitch shifting) and lastly, time based effects. In these slots you had a bunch of effects and you could choose one. There was no scope for selecting more than one effect from any of the slots, e.g. you couldn't select two choruses. Plus, you couldn't change the effect order either.

In the new series, all the effects are modeled as little individual pedals unto themselves. There is no slot based restriction and you can change the effect order as well. If I'm not being clear, you could refer to demos on Youtube or manuals for these on the Zoom site, which should make things clearer.

You can switch an individual effect in a bay on or off in the B3.
