i run a single DIY 15" cab tuned to 100Hz and a full size 15" horn on top. my amp has a sweep crossover so the right freq. goes to the appropriate places. it's loud enough to keep up with the drummer but not the two 4x12 guitar cabs....
at rehearsal last night i borrowed a super clean boost and threw it in front of my fuzz. KA-BOOM i cut through the mix and then some. because of my crossover, i retained enough low end to do my job and the highs covered the annoying second guitarist. never thought he was needed anyways. if i add chorus or a pitch up and dirt, it sounds just like him playing power cords.
the nice part is switching off the high boost and changing fuzz to dist. i can reel it back in for dynamics. now there is talk about only having the one guitarist. yea!!!!!
