They shipped it this morning & it will be here Wednesday, but it’s got to go coast to coast.

It’s not quite as flashy as the lovely emerald green Ibanez that I played at the local music store, but they wanted way too much for that one, especially considering that it had some minor damage.

I think it was a Sr500 series, and it did not have lines on it. Just some useless looking position markers.

Also it didn’t come with a case and I thought for the price that it was an extreme disadvantage.

You don't get a gig bag until you get to the premium level, and then it's a cheap bag.

I think you'll like the bass. It is super fast. May take awhile to figure out which setting you like on the 3-way toggle switch.

M in the market for an Aguilar bass amp,or trade?

No big changes visually the last couple days. I've been spraying the clear coats. I got one last coat today, before the rains fell. Along the way, I did put a couple small touches of the aged clear coat in a couple areas I felt needed a little more color and over the silver print on the waterslide decal. With the glossy clear coats I went little to none on the back of the neck, in the worn areas. The rest of it got four full glossy clear coats, along with the aged clear over most of it. I did shoot one coat of satin clear to the worn area on the back of the neck.



I unmasked the fretboard and lightly sanded the taper on the rolled edges. I may hit the face of the headstock with one more coat of clear tomorrow. Today is too humid after the rain. I think two to three weeks will be sufficient before I level sand, thin the worn areas and polish the full thickness areas. After that I'll work on adding some light checking.

As someone who has an Emperor Standard on order, I appreciate knowing that this is something to be aware of.

Fodera receiving two different types of screws and installing the wrong ones anyway isn't great. But not actually listening to the problem presented is arguably the bigger concern. Could have been handled much more quickly and without much effort.

I installed this and LOVE it.

Ok. So this thread turned into a double build. It started with me needing a sub-7 pound 5 string I can play after my back surgery. The color of the 1st bass (now called Heather) is a beautiful red (kool aid stain) and is having the neck pocket adjusted to fit the neck. In the meantime, I forgot I had bought a FrankenP so kool aid to the rescue and Clyde has been born!
Still need a bit of neck adjustment for a better lower string height, but he is up and running and I love how he came out.

I took my Peavey MAX back to the same gig, same room, same band this past weekend. And, I brought a backup head and cabinet, just in case. Although I briefly tested the MAX in my house- I could not really know at lower volume, if it was damaged by my mistake last month. It not only was not, it seemed to sound better- I tried my fifty dolar 'Sonicake' compressor, and was really, pleasantly surprised at my overall tone. Usually, I'm not a fan of using compressors, and this is a Chinesium copy of a 1776 type unit. Major surprise at the utility of it. Conclusion here- I dig the Sonicake, and- The Peavey is a tank!
I really should be a brand ambassador for Peavey- yeah, me- a Pearce amp, and boutique gear snob from back in the day.. I used to look at Peavey bass gear with a little bit of dismissal. Not anymore. I bought this little (see photo) compressor for my home silent practice rig, and it sounded so good- I had to try it live. Recommended!

Thanks. Yeah it's a plastic piece with the layout on it. My initial thought was to take it off but I figured it's been on there all this time I may as well just leave it.

Anybody tried this guy to turn it into a P bass? Music man style P-bass Pickup / Ceramic – Roswell Pickups

Wondering if it's worth it to change the wiring harness while I'm at it.

Add to that that the humbucker is a 4-wire pickup (with two leads joined from the factory). So I could also add a single coil mode or two!

I suppose I was hoping for like a normal pickguard in an ideal world. I found another Ric with the same setup as Becky's with custom pickguards, I just don't know what I'd need to do to achieve this with the bridge pickup.

Using that photo as a guide should be easy enough for anyone to make, other than the fancy designwork on that particular one.

Go for it. I've had both poly and nitro necks and always hit the back of the neck with a scotchbrite pad. Definitely takes the sticky feel away from nitro and doesn't do any harm to the neck.

HIPAA requires that the practitioners not share information. It's vital to appreciate though that practitioners can accept information from others. It has to be done with care and without disclosing the care relationship. As a mental health professional I have from time to time relied on info from community members etc. that I wouldn't have had from anyone else. You can call your band mate's provider and say "I know you can't acknowledge care or share information but I would like you to know the following things about this person."
