Fearful thread part 15 (/6?)

I suppose I should post mine. Made from Italian Poplar, and with light weight in mind during the build, she weighs a nice 43LBS total. Its still needs the grills and corners and a few other small things, but it sounds just as spectacular as I knew it would. Just finishing up the matching rack case (same tolex as baffle) and then I'll be posting more pics.

Damned spammers. :hiding:

In answer to your crimp vs solder question on Part 14.

Crimps done correctly are at least as good as solder joints. Either done badly are just bad.

OK. Thanks. I'm guessing it wasn't done so correctly in this case since I'm getting some rattling. We had to use some pretty fat wiring when we ran out of what Leland sent. Not sure if that has anything to do with it.

Okay I'm not trying to come off as a total MORON but is the Art of Noise a Fearful Company or are they just a company that builds Fearfuls, the only reason why I'm asking is I didn't see the Art of Noise name in the authorized builder's list on Greenboy's website.
So can somebody please explain where Art Of Noise Company comes into play as far as Fearful bass cabinets go.
Thanks in advance.

IIRC....Greenboy took their name off the list of builders due to some concerns about reliable delivery of the products.

They were at one time, and may be again someday, an authorized builder.

There really isn't a fEARful company, I don't think... just products and builders.

Art of Noise WAS and authorized Builder.
Greenboy dropped AoN because of customer complaints, then reinstated him.
The problems resurfaced/continued, so Robbie's been dropped from the list again.

You have 3 choices...

1. Build your own (cheapest and most satisfying to build, but also most time consuming).

2. Buy from an Authorized Builder.

3. Buy a kit from speakerhardware.com and build yourself. Not as time consuming as building from scratch but a little more costly.
