Any firm news (i.e., non-rumors) about new products from Genz Benz?

Hey folks (and especially Hasbeen and AgedHorse!),

The topic of rumors regarding new GB products has come up a lot in various threads. I just wanted to start a specific thread to come right out and ask if there are any new products, and if so, when might details be available? I remember Hasbeen saying that things should be released at Winter NAMM, and that anything they show has to be available and ready to ship. But is there any advance info available yet as to specific models? For example, I've heard rumors of new lightweight combos based on the NeoPak, and of course there have been the rumors of a higher powered NeoPak.

Any info you guys can divulge yet???

Interesting. I assume the 'clamp' is attached to the speaker, so similar to the Walkabout, you can take the head out or use the whole unit as a combo?

Nice.... I liked that Walkabout Scout idea, but the fact that you had to take screws out of the back of the cab to remove the head was poor execution of a nice design.

If I have this right, it will be key to develop and have available a cover that protects the entire unit... that will be an interesting cover shape.

Nice... what is the power and configuration of the head... is it basically an FET version of the Neo Pak?

some specs. The Shuttle 3.0 will be available in a 1x8 or 1x10 combo....and you can slide the head out for use with another cab. It will also be available as a "head only". There is a padded bag too.

300 watts into 4 ohms.

There is also the Shuttle 6.0. Available head only, 1x12 or 2x10 combo. It is over 600 watts into 4 ohms.

Yes....you can see the big aluminum, knurled knobs that you unscrew to remove the head. The head weighs 2.8 pounds.

Neo speaker, compression tweeter, aluminum chassis. The mounting brakets are neat: anodized, brushed aluminum.

okay...in response to Thronton who likes things on the bigger size. This is our Uber Bass series....8x10 an 4x10..... 1500 watts and 1000 watts.

Cast frame neo speakers....no rat fur. Grill cloth etc....

The prototype is what is seen on The Next Great American Band. We were asked to develop this for them ...they didn't want to use another 8x10 and we didn't make one.

Huh... that Shuttle is very cool looking, but it does make me wonder: Is GB's core customer base looking for tiny combos? The crowd here on TB (maybe the economic minority) seemed to all be clamoring for "bigger and louder", not the other way around.

(Edit: I see the Uber Bass post now.)

I have to ask....why do you guys at Genz Benz think it is better to have the handles on the top edges of this 4x10, like the NeoX212? I thought they were in the most inconvenient spot, making it hard to lift this cabs up to a height to get into a car trunk or similar. The handles should be on the side to properly distribute the weight when picking it up. That was one of my only complaints with the NeoX212 when I had it, and one of the reasons why I sold it. I appreciate the wheels that were on it, but I think it would have been better if there was an extendable luggage handle on the back, with normal handles on the side about half way down. To roll the NeoX212, you have to bend over due the cabinet not being very tall. Then, to pick it up to get into my car, grabbing the handles at the top didn't give me the leverage to get it up and over the trunk opening, and I would just grab the cab from the bottom, making the handles useless to me. Overall, I just thought it was a poor design, and am a little dissapointed that you would continue this with the new 4x10 you've shown here.

On the other hand, it looks like you had the right idea for the 8x10, with handles on the sides to lift it, and handles on the top to roll it.

:confused: I don't know what TB you are logging into:p:D

That being said, there's room for all flavors in the market... however, even some of the guys buying the big Berg NV's are actually downsizing from even bigger fridges!

that's the tough part of product development: EVERYTHING is a compromise of sorts and we have to expect that a portion of the market won't like something. On our handles we get a tremendous amount of positive feedback the likes of "how come nobody else thought of this?" And we get a few, "these don't work for me".

After we did our "edge lift handles", SWR, Laney, Randall and a PA cabinet company (forget the name) copied us.
