Anybody have a Kill-Switch in their bass(es)?

I have one in my J/P/J Fender P.
3 vol/tone stack knobs - one for each pup. Passive.
Allows me to switch off everything w/o turning down all three volumes or changing tone settings.
Not noisy at all. Old Volvo switch.

What is a Volvo switch?

My switches in my gtr's are $1.99 ones from The Source, and work beautifully, and are noiseless too.

Also, is your switch momentary, or on/off? (mine are momentary, so they are rapid tappable)

One of my basses has the option of going to a passive volume control, a MM-type Basslines pre or muted . . . I didn't have a 2 position switch handy when I installed the pre, so I used the "on-off-on" one that I DID have,

Hey bud! Srry, I can't post a pic. No camera. Maybe soon, but I've been saying that for years now.

A Volvo switch is a switch out of an old Volvo in my mechanics backyard. Free!

Just an up/down on/off switch. A few git players I know have the rapid taps.

I find it useful when going on break. Got tired of cranking down three volume knobs and accidentally changing the tone ring(s).

well i don't own a bass that has one but in a pawn shop I played a Cort Billy Cox signature bass that someone had put in on it...

or maybe it was like that from the factory..

i have no idea but it was pretty cool.

You get 2 red and 2 black for $4.99cdn

Very easy mod (10 mins), basically you just connect your jack tip wire, to one lug and the other to where the wire was in the first place.

These are rapid tappable, quite sturdy, and kinda fun (on my gtr's at least)

I think I'll put one in 1, 2 or all 3 of my current basses, just for fun.

In US, The Source is called Circuit City.
