Best Bass For Thrash Metal?

haha i kinda ment the genre but no we're not that bad haha
I'd say a precision or jazz should work just fine. I'm going to try using a Yamaha SBV-500 (that I'm finally getting) with some thrash bands I'm looking to try out for.

fender jazz bass (serious) I play on one, drop the VVT set up and get a stack knob set of the 'bay

In all seriousness, anything with EMG's and a 35" scale is a good starting point.
But ultimately, the tone is in your fingers (and hopefully, your loud amp).
Cliff Burton did it just fine on a modded Ric & an Aria, but I doubt most folks will suggest those.

Me says PJ configuration on basswood or alder does a very very nice old school trash type of tone. If you can grab an 80's jackson or Charvel, it should do the job just fine.
If you want to hurt people I'd recommend a P/J bass and a SansAmp. I'm also a huge fan of the G&L L-2000/2500.
the jazz basses are pretty good, i play on a black thrash band, most of the time i use and ibanez gsr active, and it sounds pretty good, theres many basses made for metal, like esp, dean, bc rich etc.anyhow y recommend you this one
